Gateway Grunt Schedule

Prior to Event

Now: Registration
2/14: Last day to RECEIVE registration without late fee.
3/1: Last day to RECIEVE registration without having to bribe our registrar.
3/3: Start times posted on web site.

Friday 3/5

1-4PM: Check in and recreational registration at Forest Park.
2-4PM: Sprint starts. We will try to be flexible on start times, as long as everybody gets on course by 4.
5PM: Courses close.
7-9PM: Check in at meet motel in Farmington.

Saturday 3/6

9-11AM: Check in at Hawn State Park.
10AM-Noon: Middle starts. we will be less flexible on start times as we want to have enough time between starts to minimize following. Those pre-registered for the Team Fundraiser will be given earlier times.
3PM: Middle courses close.
2-4PM: Team Fundraiser Sprint starts. Show up at the line when you're ready to go.
5PM: Sprint course closes.
7PM: Official results posted at meet motel. Online to follow later that evening.

Sunday 3/7

9AM: A-meet awards at Hawn State Park
9-10AM: Check in at Hawn State Park
9:45AM: Leave check-in for Grunt start
10AM: Gateway Grunt mass start
10:20AM: Gateway Runt mass start
10:20 Registration for Orange & Green
10:30 Intro to Orienteering
Noon-2PM: Shortly after the 3rd finisher in each division, awards for that division will be presented.
2PM: Orange Course closes
3PM: All other courses close

For those planning flights, it is roughly 30 minutes by car or light rail from Lambert Airport (STL) to Forest Park. If taking the rail, you will have to walk about a mile to registration.

Hawn Park to the airport varies depending on how seriously you take the speed limit (which is 70mph most of the way). Ninety minutes is moderately aggressive.

Typical race refreshements will be available to competitors between noon and 3PM on both days at Hawn. If you're the type that needs a real meal between breakfast and dinner, you might want to bring your own. Hawn is a truly wonderful spot for a picnic.
