Anne and Al

Anne the oldest of the three Buckley kids. Most who know her pronounce her name "Annie" since a gun-toting cowgirl is much more consistent with her image than someone attending English high tea. Since she lives nearby, she does a lot of the caretaking of Carol.

She works at Cornell University (all five Buckleys worked there at one time or another) where her primary responsibility is scheduling rooms for the thousand or so classes offered each semester. This sounds like a fun little Operations Research problem until you realize the massive ego that is bruised when a senior professor's pet class that hardly anybody takes is allocated a tiny room.

Her husband, Al, tends to their horse farm, which started as just a fun thing to do in the 80's and has become a pretty substantial operation.

Anne likes to hike, bike, and paddle which would make her a decent adventure racer if she had her brother's type-AAA personality. As it is, she is able to enjoy the outdoors simply by being outdoors.
